Welcome to Lantibio
Located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Lantibio is a development stage biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of effective treatments for ocular and pulmonary disease.
This first of the company’s two lead compounds, Moli1901, promotes the hydration of epithelial tissue. An ophthalmic solution of Moli1901 is currently entering Phase II clinical development in the United States for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. Formulated for aerosol delivery, Moli1901 is in Phase II clinical development in Europe for the treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) under a development and marketing license with AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals AG in Vienna, Austria.

The second lead compound, VISMED® , is currently marketed in Europe under a CE mark. VISMED® is a patented formulation of sodium hyaluronate approved for the use as a lubricant eye drop. In addition, initial clinical trials in Europe have shown VISMED® to be a promising treatment for Dry Eye Syndrome. VISMED® has been licensed by Lantibio from TRB Chemedica for development and marketing in the U.S.
